Maria Dahman (Director) performs, writes and directs around Madison, and is happy to be serving as the artistic director of Broom Street Theater. Before moving to Madison, she focused on new works and experimental theater in Zürich Switzerland, Chicago, and with the Bloomington Playwrights Project. Liz Mael (Assistant director, props and costume support) Liz appreciates this opportunity to bring another original work to BST. Liz recently played Genie in the movie The Voice of the Comforter by Rafael Ragland. She can be found shopping for props for BST, The Bartell, and Verona High School in her spare time and will Stage Manage an upcoming show at BST in the Spring. Liz is in awe of the actors that have brought this play to life. She would like to thank Todd for his support while she is away most evenings due to rehearsals. Carole Alt (Stage manager) Carole is delighted to return to Broom Street Theater as a stage manager! Previous Broom Street shows include Half and Hemidemisemiquavers. She has also stage managed for KR Women’s Theater, Madison Theatre Guild, and the Children’s Theater of Madison. In her free time, Carole enjoys sewing and cosplay.

Cyra K. Polizzi (Isla) is a theatre actor with a range of experiences in other specialties and forms. Much of their work incorporates humor, queer possibilities, and multi-issue activism, and is influenced by their graduate research on accessibility and sustainability in theatre practices. Cyra grew up performing in the Driftless, attended UW-Madison in Acting, Gender, and Environmental Studies, and worked in theatre and film in Chicago for 15 years before happily returning to Teejop. Fashion Joe (Nick, Nicholas Archer XVII) Recent Madison transplant, Fashion Joe has spent the last 19 years working as a Hollywood Editor and VFX Artist. Through that, he discovered a love for performing and had his voice featured in Good Burger 2 and Reno911!: The Hunt for Qanon. Fashion has the passion for the stage and he can’t wait to share this experience with you!
Petrovnia Charles (Andrea, Vicki) After an over 10 year hiatus, Petrovnia is excited to dip her toes back into the theater world. She is so happy that BST has been her point of reentry! Damien Hoeppner (Nan, Elizabeth, RapidCook, The AutoDent) Damien is so excited to be getting involved in community theatre and thoroughly enjoys many elements of the creative process. Damien has a background in improv, performance art, and writing, and the last production they were in was 1620 Bank Street in 2012. They hope to be in many future BST productions and are thrilled to be a part of this cast! (they/he)
Brent Holmes (The Professor, The Man with No Face, RapidCook) Brent Holmes is a graduate of Heidelberg University (in Tiffin, OH) and has been acting in Madison, WI for the past 8 years. Their most recent roles include Are We Del’Arte? with Are We Delicious?, ‘Gary’ in Sweetest Swing in Baseball (Madison Theater Guild) and ‘the Hero’ in The Little Death (Broom Street Theater). When not onstage, they are an active Dungeon Master for various Dungeons and Dragons games. They dedicate their performance to their cat Crowley, who taught them how to move for this particular role, and to their spouse Becky, who has been their constant champion.
Brian Belz (Ron, Baby Francisco, The Memory) Brian is completely enjoying this experience among some familiar faces and for more joy still, all the new faces too! Brian’s most recent performance was also in Broom Street Theatre in 2024 for The Weekend of the Burnt Piano. Other recent fun includes co-producing Bartell Ball-Drop Blitz! 2024 and directing Death and the Maiden, a staged reading. Christine Anderson (Graphic design) Christine Anderson is a studio artist and experience designer living and working in Stoughton/Madison. Christine currently works in tech as a manager for the University of Wisconsin-Madison and loves putting people first in her work. She has taken part in multiple public and environmental design projects. Christine is passionate about her family, integrating art into her surroundings, and cooking food to share with others. Richard Paro (Sound design) Richard Paro is often found writing and directing with Rotate Theatre Company where he is a long-time ensemble member. Richard enjoys using highly collaborative techniques throughout the artistic process and has worked with numerous companies in the midwest, many of them in Chicago where he was based for 15 years. In addition, his feature-length and short films have screened at festivals around the world. (he/him)
