Member Whimsy
We asked our members what they would do with the theater space, if they could use it how they wanted. And they answered!
Through the month of July we’ll be introducing programming facilitated by our members and frequent collaborators. Ranging from acting workshops, experimental music, and sketch comedy, our month of Member Whimsy is a smorgasbord of delight and inspiration fueled by the many artists living in our midst.
Come to as many events as you like. Each night will be different. All events are free.

Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3 at 7:30 PM: Acting Workshop with Fashion Joe – Get loose as a goose w/ Fashion Joe for this 90 minute Acting Workshop! This FREE class is focused on building confidence for the stage and to have some gosh dang fun! You’re shaking things out, taking wild shots, and supporting your fellow castmembers for their bravery. Whether you’re a newcomer or veteran performer, all are welcome to join. Email joe@fashionjoe.com to reserve your spot today!
Saturday, July 4 at 2 PM: Creature Monologue Workshop – A character creation workshop facilitated by Malcolm McCanles. Learn the wonder of character creation in this immersive workshop. Email creaturemonologues@gmail.com to participate.
Sunday, July 5 at 2 PM: Broom Street Elders Panel Discussion
Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 at 7:30 PM: Experimental Music with Silas Ritchie and Andrieu Todd – This “Workshop-to-show” offers anyone in the community the opportunity to improvise with Silas as Andrieu as cast members of their variety show, or to showcase a solo performance in any art form, at some point in the evening.

Sunday, July 12 at 2 PM: The Knock – A staged reading of a new play by Chelsea Gaspard, director of inertia follies (2025). The Knock is surreal expressionism exploring the inner journey of a woman outgrowing a chapter in her life.
Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at 7:30 PM; and Sunday, July 19 at 2 PM: Lucid Dreaming: Inkless with Ben Seidensticker – Enjoy a brand new sketch comedy show crafted from improv techniques. In just one week the group will develop a set of ideas into a full show- all without ever putting pen to paper!
Thursday, July 23; Friday, July 24; Saturday, July 25 at 7:00 PM; and Sunday, July 26 at 1 PM: Big Honey with Kelly Maxwell – Big Honey will rock four never-before, never-again improv events with music, guests, and lots of chances for YOU to join in.
