Unusual maladies and unwanted neighbors plague a pretty young receptionist on her first day at a busy doctor’s office. Disgruntled patients continuously lament the mysterious absence of her predecessor. Unhelpfully, her mother and their out-of-control slobbering dog keep showing up to cheer her on. A traffic accident interrupts an incipient romance with a handsome cop, hurrying him away along with the nurse and doctor. Two bumblers planning a heist ruin her brand-new pantyhose. Sperm, earwax, broken eye glasses, and a newborn carry this fast-paced romp to its hilarious conclusion. Wordplay and physical comedy prove once again that laughter is, indeed, the best medicine.
Ben Doran, Geremy Webne-Berman, Patrick Robbins, Eric Holz, John Conley, Alicia McCann, Anne Asher, Christen Cook, Betsy Wood, Simone LaPierre, Nancy Craig, Raven Albrecht, Grace Grindrod-Feeney and Rain Lochner make up this fantastic cast.
Rubbery with Violets opens July 6th and runs until July 28th 2012. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm. Doors open at 7:40pm. Tickets are $9.
