The Show
A series of comedy sketches, Glasshole! explores themes of privacy, obsession, fear, and social connection and disconnection as they relate to technology. Taking its title from an epithet for a wearer of Google Glass, the show plays with our present-day interactions both online and in the real world. In a step away from the traditional admonishment to turn off cellphones, audience will be invited to arrive with their smartphone + barcode scanner app at ready.
Performances
Glasshole! will rehearse in March and April, and opens on Friday, April 25. For tickets please visit our reservation page. Performances will be Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 pm at Broom Street Theater. Tickets will be $11.
Civil, written and directed by Rob Matsushita, is set in an unspecified future, where trials are held in a virtual environment, and can only be 40 minutes long. Five actors will play multiple roles, and the audience will vote on the outcomes of both trials…but the choice between one side or another is not always easy, and a last-minute plot twist will change the game entirely.

From the company that produced last summer’s Voices of a People’s History of the United States comes ELECT MORE VARIETY SHOWS!, featuring short satirical political plays, poems, and songs that together create a celebratory skewering of culture in Madison and the rest of the world. Among the many offerings are All Things Reconsidered by Glen Frieden and Open for Business by KC Davis. Andy Gricevich will return as musical director/leader of the house band. The ensemble cast is made up of talented local actors and performers. Please join us for an evening of fun!
ELECT MORE VARIETY SHOWS! will run Thursdays through Saturdays, July 17-19 & 24-26 at 8 p.m. at Broom Street Theatre.
From Doug Reed, the playwright who brought you The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker, comes a new play full of Song, Dance and Derring Do! Nottingham! is an audience immersive experience where the audience becomes part of the story. Audience Participation Not Required! Fun For The Bold! Safe For The Shy! The show is 70 minutes of interactive fun that asks the question what happens after Robin Hood returns the kingdom to King Richard and realizes that his hero is not who he seems to be. Accommodation will be provided for those who cannot stand for 70 minutes.
Our cast features the talents of Christina Beller, William Bolz ,Kate Boomsma, Christen Cook, Dunes, Jay Gabel, Sara Beth Hahner, Annie Jay, Clarice Lafayette, Joseph Lutz, Donnovan Moen , Petra Wakker, Bob Moore and Doug Reed (final weekend only).
