900 is Rob Matsushita’s romantic comedy about Ben, who has just moved into town and has never called a phone sex line before and Augustina, a comic book geek who works out of her apartment. They’re about to have a phone sex call like no other. Directed by Kathy Lynn Sliter and starring Katherine Boomsma and N-Dig0, “900” is an edgy romantic comedy for audiences ages 17 and up.

racks is a cycle of two plays that examine where we have been, what lies ahead, the connections we make, the light at the end and the darkness that creeps in around the edges. Staring: Lee Waldhart, Don Dexter, Liz Angle Milisch, Susan Levin, Autumn Shiley, Jesse Gustafson, Jay Gabel, and Andrew Burtless. Tracks marks Christopher Younggren’s first production at Broom Street Theater.
In “Station” we meet two lost travelers who must discover a way to exit a seemingly inescapable train station. In the process, they encounter others who both illuminate and confuse them, as they are forced to find strength in each other and ultimately fight for their very survival and struggle onward toward the light.
“Train Song” finds a young man, Lyle Tanner, arriving at a battered old train shack in a forgotten railroad yard, late at night, during the worst blizzard of thr decade. He has come to make the caretaker – an old man who has lived there for years – an offer he can’t refuse. But the old man has a secret, one that will force Lyle to look inward and reexamine everything he thought he knew. Suggested by a Harry Chapin song, “Train Song” is one for the heart strings.

Unusual maladies and unwanted neighbors plague a pretty young receptionist on her first day at a busy doctor’s office. Disgruntled patients continuously lament the mysterious absence of her predecessor. Unhelpfully, her mother and their out-of-control slobbering dog keep showing up to cheer her on. A traffic accident interrupts an incipient romance with a handsome cop, hurrying him away along with the nurse and doctor. Two bumblers planning a heist ruin her brand-new pantyhose. Sperm, earwax, broken eye glasses, and a newborn carry this fast-paced romp to its hilarious conclusion. Wordplay and physical comedy prove once again that laughter is, indeed, the best medicine.
Ben Doran, Geremy Webne-Berman, Patrick Robbins, Eric Holz, John Conley, Alicia McCann, Anne Asher, Christen Cook, Betsy Wood, Simone LaPierre, Nancy Craig, Raven Albrecht, Grace Grindrod-Feeney and Rain Lochner make up this fantastic cast.

Callen Harty’s new comedy One Man/One Woman looks at the topic of marriage and marriage equality through a series of vignettes from Adam and Eve (and Steve) in the Garden of Eden to modern couples struggling with the meaning of marriage to politicians working hard to prevent people from marrying clocks. It is a fun overview of marriage equality and what it means in our modern world.
Harty returns to directing after a 2 year hiatus and is accompanied by newcomer Raymond McElroy playing One Man and BST veteran Lauri Harty playing One Woman. The play also includes film excerpts from Proud Theater, Madison’s very own LGBTQ youth theater.
